La croix Hauptman est un Christ en bois peint du XIXème siècle posé sur socle calcaire portant des inscriptions en français et en allemand. Elles font référence à Arnold Hauptman, membre d’une famille d’Eupen partisane de la diffusion de la religion réformée sur le territoire du duché de Limbourg. Au XVIème siècle, la capitale du duché devint le bastion de cette nouvelle doctrine dans nos régions jusqu’à une terrible répression mêlant exécutions et bannissements qui laissèrent la place forte presque déserte en 1572.
